Joseph Company, one of the USA’s largest scrap metal companies. It is headquartered in Crescent Springs, Kentucky, and was formed in August 1998 to better serve its regional customers. The formation of a separate, stand-alone company enables RMR to foster the spirit of entrepreneurship that is vital to success in the scrap collection, processing and services industry.
Today, River Metals Recycling is the largest scrap processor in Kentucky and in the greater Cincinnati area, with processing yards in Henderson, Louisville, Newport, Owensboro, Paducah, and Somerset, Kentucky; Metropolis, Illinois, Greensburg, Indiana, Cincinnati and Xenia, Ohio. RMR’s equipment includes automobile shredders, an aluminum shredder, balers, shears, mobile shearing, torch processing, auto crushers, and an extensive truck and railcar fleet. RMR processes over 1,000,000 tons of ferrous scrap and 100,000,000 pounds of nonferrous scrap per year.
RMR has pioneered the GammaTech Crossbelt Metal Analyzer. The Company presently operates three of these analyzers at Henderson, Louisville and Newport. The technology provides for the production and sale of a lower residual shredded product with copper levels of .13 to .15 points.
RMR yards are environmentally safe operations, fully complying with all EPA regulations. This assures suppliers that their scrap will be handled in an environmentally safe manner. As leaders in scrap recycling in Kentucky, Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio, River Metals is dedicated to environmental consciousness. To this end, in December 2005, the Company achieved its ISO 14001:2004 certification. less
