The Foundation publishes "The Voice", a monthly newsletter concerning the historic district comprised of Mansion Hill and Gateway neighborhoods. Additionally, the East Row Historic Foundation sponsors multiple tours throughout the year.
  
  Mansion Hill, which is on the National Register of Historic Places, began to take shape as a neighborhood in the late-1970's, when new homeowners fought a proposed expressway interchange off nearby Interstate 471. They took their fight to City Hall and succeeded in having the interchange plans modified. They formed a lobbying group to urge more local zoning control. They won that battle, too, and in July 1980 Mansion Hill was designated a city historic district.
  
  East Row Historic District is home to 1,070 homes and is Kentucky's second largest historic district. All buildings in East Row have the distinction of being listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Energized in part by the East Row's success, Newport is experiencing a renaissance that has garnered national attention, including coverage by the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times.  less
